The biggest surprise of the 2013 season has undoubtedly been the transformation of the JSerra football program. The perennial cellar dwellers in the Trinity League have opened everybody's eyes over the first five games of the year, and a dominant win over Trabuco Hills last week now has everybody buying the Lions stock. JSerra has only won three Trinity League games since joining the league in 2006, and two of those wins have come against Orange Lutheran. The Lions throttled the Lancers, 41-6, at the end of last season behind Casey Eugenio's 126 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Eugenio is back and better than ever, averaging 140 yards on the ground per game. Lions quarterback Nick Robinson is completing nearly 70 percent of his passes on the year, and has thrown 14 touchdowns to only four interceptions. The Lancers are coming off of a bye, and the extra week to prepare will definitely help. Orange Lutheran has not played the same level of competition as JSerra, as their opponents have a combined record of 9-18.
